    FAQ'S

What's the difference between the Invisible Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ and the Mineral Mattifying Sunscreen SPF50+?

Our Mineral Mattifying Sunscreen SPF50+ is a mineral/physical, zinc-based SPF with a mattifying finish that controls oil and shine. The skin-perfecting formula is boosted with vitamin C-rich kakadu plum to brighten and plump.

Our Invisible Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ is a chemical sunscreen with a lightweight, invisible finish and a hydrating formula that’s boosted with vegan collagen to plump and firm skin.

What’s the difference between a chemical sunscreen and a physical sunscreen?

A physical sunscreen contains physical/mineral sun blockers, like zinc, that create a physical barrier between your skin and the sun. Physical sunscreens reflect some UVA and UVB rays off the skin, while absorbing others, just like a chemical sunscreen. Sensitive skin types often prefer physical sunscreens, especially if they are prone to irritation. The inclusion of zinc often creates a thicker formula with a more mattifying finish.

Our Mineral Mattifying Sunscreen SPF50+ is a physical sunscreen.

A chemical sunscreen contains chemical compounds that absorb the sun’s UVA and UVB rays like a sponge, converting them into heat before they hit the skin’s dermis layer, therefore preventing UV rays from damaging the skin. They usually feature a thin, easily absorbed texture that layers beautifully with other skincare products and under makeup.

Our Invisible Facial Sunscreen SF50+ is a chemical sunscreen.

Which sunscreen is right for me?

Both our Invisible Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ and Mineral Mattifying Sunscreen SPF50+ offer broad spectrum sun protection, so it all depends on your skin type and what product texture and formula finish you personally prefer!

Our Invisible Facial Sunscreen SF50+ is great for all skin types, especially if you love hydrating yet lightweight formulas. It’s great under makeup and melts into the skin seamlessly.

Sensitive, oily or reactive skin types might prefer our Mineral Mattifying Sunscreen SPF50+, as the physical zinc-based, fragrance-free formula soothes sensitive skin.

    WHAT IT DOES
    HOW TO USE

Always apply 20 minutes prior to sun exposure. Apply everyday as the final step in your skincare routine (so after you cleanse, tone, apply serums and moisturiser, etc).

Use 3 pumps, or the equivalent of 1/2 a teaspoon, on your face, neck and ears for full SPF protection. Follow with makeup if desired.

Frequent reapplication is required for effective sun protection. Reapply after swimming, towelling off or sweating. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, always wear protective clothing and seek shade.

No white cast and non drying

I love this sunscreen! I'm sensitive to so many and have been searching for one that I can use daily. This is it!! Many other zinc sunscreens leave a white cast, this has a slight tint that cancels that out on my medium skin tone. It blends well, no pilling even when reapplied, not greasy. But most importantly it doesn't sting or dry out my skin. Please roll this out more widely in NZ!!! I found it (online only) at the warehouse but would love to see it in stores!!!

    Not quite mattering

I love the feel, the consistency, the pump, they way it applies is easier then some others but it is just not mattifying for me it makes me quite shiny more then some other normal sunscreens make me which is quite unfortunate. If you have any type of oiliness it may not be the best pick for you. I will continue to you it but will just need to pop a mattifying powder over the top. The other massive win with this product which is why I will keep using it is that because it's slightly tinted there is no white cast left which absolutely Amazing!

Great sunscreen but the pump doesn’t work

My absolute favourite sunscreen - I have incredibly reactive skin and it’s one of the only sunscreens I’m able to use. Perfect tint for my pale olive skin tone. Satin-matte finish on my dry skin. My only issue is the pump to get the product out just isn’t suited for the thickness of the product - I couldn’t get anymore out so I cut the bottle in half and about a quarter of the product was still left in the bottle. A normal squeeze type bottle would be better suited.

    Not mattifying for me

I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I don't. The sunscreen feels like a traditional sunscreen on the skin so is a bit thick but is easy to spread and apply. Once applied it is very shiny on the skin. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and this did not mattify my skin at all. If you have dry skin this would be more suitable than oily skin. It has a slight pale pinkish colour and does not leave a white cast which is good.

New daily staple for sensitive eyes

As someone who had written off physical/inorganic sunscreens as greasy, heavy and prone to leaving me looking ghostly or like a dorito, I'd resigned myself to chemical formulas only. Unfortunately, my poor, poor eyes HATE chemical sunscreens, resulting in me shirking on application around the eyes and exposing myself to more UV than I'd prefer. I went to my local woolies and grabbed this sunscreen thinking I was getting the chemical formula, but OMG am I glad I picked up this bottle by accident. For the first time in the longest time, I can apply my SPF around my eyes without hesitation, and the formula (though certainly thick compared with chemical/organic sunscreens) works into my skin beautifully. It doesn't pill at all; doesn't leave my light/medium skin looking ghostly, ashy or orange; and doesn't leave me feeling like a ball of grease. I'd say the finish isn't really matte for me, but it does dry down to a softer glow than a lot of other zinc products I've tried. If I could have my way, I'd love for MCo to release this in a travel size as well, as I never want to be without it!

    Best sunscreen ever

I have tried so many sunscreens—Australian, Korean, French, physical, chemical, mineral, you name it. I prefer zinc-based sunscreens for my skin (and because they're reef-safe) but I find most of them to be either way too thick or much too greasy. I picked this up at Woolies recently, not expecting much, and I still can't believe how much I love it. It definitely comes out thick but it rubs into my skin like a dream. And as someone who is ridiculously pale, I was worried the oxides would leave a noticeable tint on my face, but it rubs in perfectly clear. It also isn't greasy at all, which is such a huge plus for me. Best of all it's 50+ and leaves my skin feeling protected but not clogged. This is the best physical SPF50+ I have used. Thank you MCoBeauty!

    Love, love, love!

I read so many nice reviews about these new MCo sunscreens, I had to try them myself! I am absolutely sold on them both, in my opinion; this one is a bit heavier than the other one, I wear this one on the weekends if I am out and about, and wear the other one when I spend most of the day in doors, at the office etc. I am happy with my purchase and will definitely buy again when I run out of product!

    Great for sensitive skin

I have dry, sensitive and acne prone skin. I’ve been looking for a mineral spf that isn’t too oily, fragrance free and non-comedogenic. This one certainly takes the cake! The cream goes on smoothly and isn’t sticky. It’s even helped with my acne scarring, redness and overall complexion. I hope the formula never changes. The ingredients are simple yet skin changing!! ✨

    Super strong

I read that the MCo Sunscreen in the orange tube worked as a moisturiser so I had to try it and I thought I might aswell try the pink tube one, and I found that the orange one definitely works as a moisturising cream but the pink tube one is more of a strong sunscreen that you would wear when your skin is exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, it's a bit thicker but it works wonders, I wear it on my morning jogs now
